Scotia on flooring

Kaye Davey
last year

Hi all,

Just looking for opinions and, if possible, photos of your finished laminate flooring, particularly around kitchen cabinets.

We are getting our kitchen installed now, and finalising our flooring options. At this stage it is likely the kitchen will be completed before the flooring goes down - the question is whether to ask our installer to leave the kickers off so the flooring can go under them, or have scotia around the outside. Our kitchen guy things we should just finish the kitchen and then have the flooring put in, including scotia. I can see his point as our floors are not entirely level so putting the scotia on afterwards will help disguise the "lumps and bumps" in the kickers, but we are also having a waterfall on one end of the island so I am concerned about how the scotia will look with that.

Alternatively we could go with a white scotia rather than timber as the kitchen and all skirting boards in the house will be white, that way it would stand out less in the kitchen I think.

Thoughts? And thanks in advance
