Which wall colours go with a terracotta roof?
Comments (8)It's a dilemma because you know your stuck with it for years once it's on. We recently painted our cedar exterior. Started by agreeing on a general colour and then buying a series of sample pots. We finally decided on dulux colour bond dune. Amazing in itself as we rarely agree haa. It was a nice mix between beige and grey. We bought the 10 litre tin and went to work. After completing one wall I thought the paint was taking a while to dry as it wasn't getting as dark as the sample. My husband thought it was because of the lighting. I took a piece of wood and painted the sample which we loved and the paint from the 10 litre can together and yes they were a different shade. The hardware store had accidentally mixed the sample pot in double strength. It was all fixed up and we really love the result. So it was Dulux Colourbond Dune. I think it would be perfect with your roof colour....See MoreColours to go with Colourbond Ironstone roof
Comments (34)Hi, we are extending upstairs over a older red brick home. we have Ironstone windows, gutters, roof. We are going to render the extension but don't want to go lighter like a Dune colour but more of a medium grey. We will be replacing our posts and garage door with timber (also have a timber gate) so I feel like we can get away with a darker grey upstairs render. Do you know a good medium grey that goes well with Ironstone? Initially I was thinking Simone Weil and maybe even Guild Grey if it's not too dark?...See MoreTrying to choose best Colourbond cladding to go with Zincalume roof
Comments (22)We want something that blends in, but because it's a zinc and colourbond shed home, I want to choose a colour that makes it look more like a house and less like a shed. I was looking at basalt but my husband would prefer a lighter colour for keeping the place cool in summer. My original choice was windspray but I'm a bit concerned it won't contrast enough with the zinc roof...but perhaps better than dune that might look too 'sheddy'...so hard to decide!...See MoreWhich colour roof tile 1960s brick house
Comments (11)Roof-tiles -- surfmist or similar light almost bluey-silver . Gutters -- charcoal ( I'd almost go a metallic look charcoal ) The upstairs windows on the left look wooden framed -- maybe an illusion ? Personally , no matter what they are , I'd like to do all window frames in a charcoal , but the narrower looking frames would be difficult , so maybe do the window sills in a charcoal -- prep well being brick , but it will sort of underline the windows , and go horizontal to reference the gutters . The veranda rails and columns carry on that charcoal theme , and the tiles look like they might be a surfmist friendly tone , so you have another 'tie-in' already done . The garage door may work as it is , it looks lighter than a charcoal and even though it has a bit of a brown tone , I suspect it would work , but in the photo , the beam along the top of the door looks full mission brown -- change that . Charcoal may be too dark , surfmist too light , maybe try and match the door ? Charcoal on the letterbox but with big chrome or stainless numbers , or crisp white . A 1.5mtr tall leafy shrub in the garden , between the 2 downstairs windows , nothing too much wrong with the bricks , but just to add some interest and variety to the garden , and there you go , pretty much done . A more modern look , with the only big $$$ being the roof , which you were going to do anyway ....See Moresiriuskey
