My kitchen so far...Any ideas of colours to use to decorate around?
Comments (29)What a beautiful kitchen! Colour really depends in the style you are looking for...I have a similar space to you and I went with this light blue/aqua tile....I love it and the first thing most people comment on is how calming it is....I wanted a casual calm beachy feel to my home and it worked perfectly for me! Another option I saw at a friend's recently was a soft ?dove grey glass subway tile (similar to the 2nd photo) in a herringbone pattern...it looked amazing with all white cabinetry.... neutral but if you love bright red option then accessories in red such as toaster kettle etc would really pop...and that way if you tire if red u can change accessories cheaper than a splashback/wall....See MoreDecor ideas for this cabinet nook
Comments (19)Agree with some of the ideas already mentioned of artwork (maybe 3 small framed prints or photos hung vertically given the light you intend to install?) to fill the wall space, tiered stand with fruit, cook books on one shelf and the other can be used for storing stationery, mail etc using a stacked set of drawers (some nice ones available at the stationery/office suppliers). You can hang removable hooks inside the door for keys. I'm not a fan of having "stuff" (papers, keys) on bench tops as it quickly turns into a dumping area and in a thoroughfare, things end up on the floor as people rush past. Best of luck - your kitchen is gorgeous by the way!!...See MoreKitchen decor ideas
Comments (11)Wise comments Jan - I'm a minimalist too! Yes making considered purchases and taking time is the way to go I believe. Like the idea of a ceramic utensil holder and a pretty container for handwash. Also shades of the chosen colour sounds great plus a bit of texture and pattern. I had been thinking of a clock but my husband says we have clocks on both ovens - but my eyesight is not what it used to be plus their the 24 hour variety! We have a large artwork on the opposite wall. Yes the blind is relatively new as this is a new build home (we did an owner build - nearly killed me!). There is a one screen blind and also a block out blind behind that for the warmer summer weather. Thanks again taking the time to provide your feedback - greatly appreicated.....See MoreDecorating a bar area
Comments (6)Yes you need some colour and interest. A large single artwork, or tile the back wall, or even a interesting wallpaper, add floating shelving for glasses. Display the bottles and your drinking glasses randomly. Your shelf is too ….organised. Purchase a large tray to hold the whisky decanters. Put coloured liquor bottles in front of the mirror, firstly to cover the mirror, second to reflect colour. If you are going to use as a charging station, then purchase a nice stand for equipment. Such as the gold one in the photo attached....See MoreDaisy England
