where are the existing kitchen cabinets and exact position of the sink (and dw?) stove and fridge? ..please include the length of all walls for better understanding of the total space available......but, assuming that the whole end wall is about 3.6m and the existing kitchen cabinets run along the bedroom wall about 3.6m? (with stove sink and fridge?) having matching kitchen cabinets installed under the window with a matching tall 1m wide pantry cabinet in the corner (no more than 60cms deep to allow doors to open without projecting past the corner) would give the best results ...anything else is just a free standing cabinet and with the new cabinets (and new counter and doors for the old kitchen?) you'll have a streamlined new kitchen with three times the storage and counter space with patience and enthusiasm the new cupboards could be made out of flatpac cabinets available in most Hardware stores

Thanks Julie. That is exactly how I want this to look. We made this wooden bench to avoid buying ready made. I ll check cushion factory. I am considering a beige seat to ensure we can use all colors for any pictures I may want to hang in the background. Though I am tempted to go pink. :) I love the k mart stuff. I am just hoping to get some storage, so the third option looks the best. But this is an outdoor storage bench. You think it would look good indoors ? I am hoping to get something made of wood, so it does not damage. I do like the below , but again its particle board. Also, the coffee table I have will go in the veranda. KASSY M idea would be great if you could get the Body Corporate to agree, there's a possibility that Christians apartment is "mirrored" with the next door's entrance beside theirs, which they might also like. This would allow the kitchen to run up to the old entrance with a longer island. My idea for getting extra light into the kitchen during daylight hours is to do what an Italian Architect did and put a highlight window on bed 3 wall (with suitable glass and blind in bedroom) A Japandi ( Scandi/Japanese) style kitchen with barn door ( my rail should be between the door and wall but you will get the idea, Cabinets a mixture of Black and white, timber benchtops?, The end wall is Pantries with 1m fridge space, The 800 x 1600 Island can be configured with draws. The splash back of clear mirror to reflect light, keeping the concrete ceiling and getting a lighting specialist to do the lighting, some will do this at no cost if you purchase the products from them

I'm towards the end of decorating a new build home and wish I had your eye for design (I am really struggling with this last bit - just the guest room to go) ! I really like the colour combo you have suggested and the table lamp and throw (I have been given a lovely alpaca throw in a cinnamon colour).. I have found the following cushion combos online. The first uses a combo of Weave and Newline brand cushions (Boucle Ovis Ecru) and the second uses all Newline cushions (a tad more budget friendly as Newline have a 30% sale ATM). Would you mix shapes for the accent cushions (i.e. square and oblong))? Newline square cushions are 50 x 50 and lumbar are 30 x 50 whereas Weave square cushions are 50 x 50 and lumbar are 40 x 60. Alternatively should the second accent colour be rust (rather than khaki) as per the feedback above to tie in with the TV unit? A rust cushion is a bit more tricky to find with Weave cushions. Maybe there is another brand I should check out? Your thoughts greatly appreciated. Have a great evening. xx
