I put a lot of thought into what kind of sink to install ino my new kitchen: single vs double, stainless steel vs other materials, dish drainer or not, and finally undermount vs top mount. I went safe and chose industrial grade steinless steel, double sink without a drainer but with aditional part with multi purpose. I was very indecisive about the last thing: undermount vs top mount sink and finally decided after reading this - I will go top mount.

Hi jtoot222 Assuming you enter at the short side I would lay the tiles along the 7340 wall at both end tiles 420mm and all others 500 mm. The other direction you start at both sides with 557 mm tiles and then 4 rows of 1m. That way the cut tiles have a good size and the room will appear more square. BUT, there are 2 aspects I would take into consideration when designing the layout: 1. where is your furniture (an area where you can fudge (hide small cut tiles) IF you have several entries and are particular about starting at the entry with a full tile. This is only advisable if you are sure the cut edge is permanently hidden from view! AND 2. the main entry / vista into the room. If it's NOT along the short wall, i.e. you don't mainly look into the longer depth of your room, then you might prefer laying the tiles in the other direction. (670 , 6 x 1000, 670 along long wall & 257, 9 x 500, 257 along short wall). I personally prefer to look at tiles perpendicular/ cross-ways, which by the way, might be the reason why the next 'houzzer' doesn't like his tiles in the long hallway. They enhance the length. Nice result and a very hard choice between the 2! For those who are interested, you do need to have a handrail that runs the whole length of the flight. We have vertical brushed aluminium rods on the steps that start from the 5th tread (to keep a sense of openness) but needed a wall rail as well. We chose the rod option over glass for something different and with far less maintenance. I think it all comes down to individual taste and what's important to you in terms of overall design

Looking at both these pics (last post), I think the bottom selections are better. Ashland is a great option to go with, as it has warmth to it, then go with a light grey, maybe Godfrey Hirst carpet - Golden Bay Cockle (It's a 55oz, but this colour does come in lighter weights). Remember that furniture doesn't always stay around as long as flooring, so if something tends to clash with the furniture now, that may not be the case in 5 years. Go with your gut feel. I can guarantee you will absolutely love the Karndean product once installed. As Houzzers, it's not always easy for us to know the aspect or layout of your home in relation to sun etc etc.
