Gosh this is an old thread, lucky I'm still attached to it. Sorry Susan, can't help you, the Houzzer is in the US and they have different brands to us and I've also learned even if the brands are the same, the colours aren't necessarily the same. Did you check out the brand Luke posted? I believe Luke is no longer with Houzz unfortuantely. Personally, I would never touch brick, it is a timeless product and usually messing with it only results in more maintenance over time, where natural brick is pretty much maintenance free. I also read the other day red bricks are coming back in again - there is always a cycle if you wait long enough. My old house was red brick and I had the green guttering, roof tiles and such but over the years the roof tiles lost their colour and went grey. When I sold the house the new owners painted all the guttering and outside trims charcoal grey. As much as I hate grey and am over the constant use of it, I have to say it really looks great and gives new life to the bricks. Maybe this is the way to go with updating facades, just change trims to the current fad colours, they need painting regularly anyway, and leave bricks to the natural cycle of trends.

Hi Siriuskey, They are timber looking tiles - we absolutely love them. We are considering the same for the new place but potentially herringbone/parquetry arrangement. Much more expensive vs. laminate but easier to clean and no concern in relation to water...

once our homes are allowed to heat up it's very difficult to cool them down because heat from warm air allowed in through open windows and doors is stored in the walls and floors and then released back inside the house as the outdoor temperature drops ..this heat sink effect is fabulous when you have a good sunny day in cold climates but challenging when we have extended periods of hot weather and especially challenging in your hot climates where homes need to be lightweight to minimise this passive heating effect and outlook and orientation need to be different than most advice available about these effects (which is usually aimed at retaining heat in cold climates). We have ceilings fans and cross ventilation in all major rooms, high windows with electric openers to increase the stack exhaust effect, maximum insulation in roofs and walls, double glazed windows, insulated internal window coverings and solid internal doors to restrict heat movement, wide eaves and/or verandahs and have substituted more lawns,trees and gardens for some paving but windows on the eastern side still allow sun to heat the house from early morning and windows on the west increase the effect till late evening and we now plan to install adjustable vertical screens on the outside of windows and verandahs to increase shading.. living in a cold climate we already have heating but we are now considering upgrading our heaing to include reverse cycle air conditioning but we're hoping the new screens will avoid the ac..good luck with your challenges

I have a white double sink - one sink is mostly ok (just some scratch marks) but the one that is used most is yellow. I clean it with a Magic Eraser every week which helps - but it still has a yellow tinge no matter how hard I scrub. It's an old sink - but there are plenty of stainless steel sinks that are older and still look fine - so I wouldn't recommend white. Hope that helps :)
