Retro Mid-Century Inspired Bathroom Remodel in a classic 1960 Ranch house. The updated shower showcases classic 2 x 4 white glazed subway tiles with custom built niches accented by penny rounds in shades of sea green and aqua blue. These niches provide plenty of storage space, as well as offering a unique design feature with their around-the-corner design highlighted by the color blocked accent tiles, with kudos to the home owner for her artistic vision.

The original bathroom on the main floor had an odd Jack-and-Jill layout with two toilets, two vanities and only a single tub/shower (in vintage mint green, no less). With some creative modifications to existing walls and the removal of a small linen closet, we were able to divide the space into two functional bathrooms – one of them now a true en suite master. In the master bathroom we chose a soothing palette of warm grays – the geometric floor tile was laid in a random pattern adding to the modern minimalist style. The slab front vanity has a mid-century vibe and feels at place in the home. Storage space is always at a premium in smaller bathrooms so we made sure there was ample countertop space and an abundance of drawers in the vanity. While calming grays were welcome in the bathroom, a saturated pop of color adds vibrancy to the master bedroom and creates a vibrant backdrop for furnishings.

This Willow Glen Eichler had undergone an 80s renovation that sadly didn't take the midcentury modern architecture into consideration. We converted both bathrooms back to a midcentury modern style with an infusion of Japandi elements. We borrowed space from the master bedroom to make the master ensuite a luxurious curbless wet room with soaking tub and Japanese tiles.

Bathroom renovation included using a closet in the hall to make the room into a bigger space. Since there is a tub in the hall bath, clients opted for a large shower instead.

The original bathroom light fixtures with a gold star motif were the inspiration for this fun bathroom remodel. A textured wall tile picks up shapes of the shadow block on the exterior of the home, and a whimsical cosmic palm wallpaper ties all the elements together.
