Tiles for Hamptons style bathrooms? Both bathrooms will have customise
Comments (7)I love those long floorboards/wood-look tiles and they are the feature so you wouldn't want something too busy on the walls... personally I would go with a larger format say 300x600 rectified edge white tile with a matt finish for the Hamptons look... what's your vanity?... a timber one would tie in nicely with the floors and all the white... very Hamptons :)...See MoreHoliday project - how do i do up by bathroom for cheap?
Comments (7)Hi Neryl! I'm pleased to say there is an awful lot you can do for that budget!! My recommendations are: * Paint the vanity white (or even just the etched lines) & replace the handles with little chrome ones OR * keep an eye on gumtree for a small vanity unit (your top is fine you just need the unit) - often you'll get one for free if you check every day! * replace the lace curtain with a plain white roller blind (or leave the window bare) * replace the medicine cabinet with a bigger one (or if you don't need the storage space do away with it & just put up nice mirror that will fit the space better) * paint the top half of the room a lighter whiter colour Personally the medicine cabinet & curtain are the only things that sticks out at me as looking daggy and as they are at eye level its the most noticable thing in the room. Good luck I'm sure you'll have it looking more inviting in no time!...See MoreBathroom layout help - awkward space at bathroom
Comments (5)Yes thank you for your thoughts. the room is 2.8 (with window) vs 3.4m. I do find it a bit annoying too as I don't like that you open the door and see straight away into the shower (though I'm certain the door would have a lock). I'm sure they lined the bath up to be with the window as visually that looks better, but then I find the space at the end annoying. I like the alternative drawings (I like three of them lots!) and I had been considering an drop in bath built wall to wall rather than a freestanding but also finding it frustrating to find a really nice supportive bath and there are less drop in baths than freestanding around at the moment which is a bit annoying. Thanks Anna for the picture, that helps as that looks good (though we would have more space at either end, 50cm) and I prefer the look of yours with some space but not as cavenous... I think I might have to have a talk with my husband as we really need to work out what to do!!...See MoreSmall bathroom design - help needed! Thoughts on wetroom bathrooms?
Comments (6)When it comes to designing a small bathroom, a wetroom bathroom can be a great option as it can maximise the available space and create a sleek and modern look. Here are some thoughts and tips to keep in mind: Space optimisation: Since wetroom bathrooms eliminate the need for a separate shower enclosure, you can use the available space more efficiently. You can install a walk-in shower that blends with the rest of the bathroom or create a partial wall to separate the shower area from the rest of the bathroom. Waterproofing: It's important to make sure that your wetroom bathroom is completely waterproof to avoid any potential water damage. You'll need to install a waterproof membrane on the walls and floor and ensure that the drain is properly installed to prevent any water from seeping through. Flooring: Choose a non-slip flooring option that's suitable for wet environments. Tiles are a popular choice for wetroom bathrooms as they're durable and easy to clean. Lighting: Good lighting is essential in a small bathroom to create an illusion of space. Consider installing recessed lighting in the ceiling or above the shower area to provide adequate lighting without taking up too much space. Storage: To make the most of your small bathroom, you'll need to incorporate some storage solutions. You can install a vanity unit with drawers or shelves to store toiletries and towels, or consider adding some floating shelves or a medicine cabinet. Overall, a wetroom bathroom can be a great choice for a small bathroom as it can create a spacious and modern look while maximising the available space. Just make sure to keep in mind the waterproofing and other considerations mentioned above to ensure a functional and stylish design.
