Hi, your home looks pretty good, you have done a lot on the interiors. Coming back to the question, yes, you can add a wallpaper behind the television, go for a textured wallpaper as it will create a compliment to your television. As you have decorated with wooden elements, you can go with a bookshelf on the wall. And, there is one more thing which will be a simple addition but will look perfect and that is an antique wall clock. An antique wall clock will make your wall look great without any fuss.

Lightening the mortar will look great and keep those lovely bricks as the feature of the room. Eventually a few other ways to brighten the room could be: lighter coat of paint on the walls & a tall indoor plant or wall art in place of book shelves (if you have another spot for the shelves that is). Hi Will, we have the Taurus and certainly love the look. We installed it late winter last year so it’s only recently that we have really put it through its paces. We have a huge open plan area to heat and this does do the job but needs a constant supply of hardwood to keep it effective. i am a bit disappointed at how quickly it burns through the timber even when turned down. it is absolutely cold by next morning and does not provide warmth overnight. it also billows smoke whenever the door is opened though this eventually lessens as the heat builds and the timber burns more efficiently. The firebox is quite shallow and it’s a challenge at times to stoke the timber safely as on occasions the coals and logs teeter on the front edge and it’s easy for them to fall out. We crafted a steel lip to sit in front as a prevention. And lastly it’s disappointing that no matter how much we try we always end up with blackening on the glass which requires daily cleaning. i’m guessing this is related to the abundance of smoke that seems to remain accumulated when lighting the fire and getting it going over the first hour. And yes, our firewood is excellent quality and dry but i can’t help thinking there needs to be a redesign to allow the smoke to travel up the flu rather than remain in the firebox.

What you have created is a beautiful clean open space. But that is only the foundation. Now what is needed is you. You need to inject your personality and your family’s into the space. For nowhere do I see anything that tells me who lives there. And this is something you can add to as you live and use the space - in effect turning a gorgeous room into a home. Perhaps a vase of flowers on table or photos on sideboard or yes perhaps eventually changing mirror to a piece of art that grabs you. The trick is to not rush this stage. Live with the room and gradually add items you love to personalise it as yours. You have created a beautiful backdrop now it just needs you.
