I found the following photos that may assist in getting the look you want. You are right the white furniture will make the purple wall pop. It can still work with your grey suite, just not on the same wall as the suite. Your TV wall sounds like the best option, but before you paint the whole wall, try painting a large piece of board that you can prop against the wall for a few days. This will let you see it under different light conditions at various times of the day. [houzz=] [houzz=] [houzz=] [houzz=] Accessories are important, complementary area rug (pic 3) , coordinating cushions and some artwork (pic 2) will tie it all together. Key is not to over do it with too much furniture - keep it simple. I am not a fan of fishtanks in the living room, unless you are really up for maintaining it, as they can quickly become murky and could spoil the fresh look you want to achieve. A high storage unit might be more practical and useful as in pic 4. White timber blinds instead of the curtains, definitely, with side drapes to contrast. I'm afraid you will have to repaint the other wall and when you do find a big piece of artwork to hang there instead. I think the first task is to repaint the walls. In your pics the wall colours appear muddy, while the painting colours are bright and clear. The two are fighting each other. Neutral paint with a blue-grey undertone would work with the painting, the rug and the lounge setting. Don't make it a feature; let the artwork be the hero--as long as you love the artwork! The room as a whole is quite hard and needs some texture. Timber accessories would be a way of softening it. Maybe consider adding a couple of timber stools in one of the paler tones (oak?) to use as side tables. One way to soften the corner to the left of the TV unit would be to add some floppy baskets in a natural material like seagrass, again in a pale colour that would tone in with the timber. You could use the baskets for storage of magazines and books, which would also add texture. Greenery in the left-hand corner would also add texture. Maybe one large plant could be placed behind either one large basket or a couple of smaller baskets or softly textured containers. Otherwise, a row of three small plants somewhere on the TV unit would be cute. I agree with you about using blue tones from the painting as accents, but only if you tone down the blue. It has to be the same colour but much less powerful and overwhelming. You could also use some of the beautiful sea-green shades, but again with a softer tone rather than the strong colour used in the painting. Cushions in a combination of blues and greens--but much softer than those in the painting; they are way too strong-- would look great against the dark grey lounge setting. I would ignore the purple, black and grey when choosing accessories. Floor cushion(s) in blue or green, or patterned subtly in these colours, are another simple idea to add both colour and texture. Coloured glass or textured timber bowls, plate or vases on the TV unit would work and are often quite cheap to buy. Books always make a room look homely. Even a stack on a stool add interest and texture. Apart from the painting, most of these items can be bought quite inexpensively if you look around. Good luck!!

Hi, You could introduce some mid century pops of colour, mustard , teal and burnt orange. This could be in your dining chairs or cushions and throws and art etc. I would only go with black if you are intending to have black elsewhere as the floor looks like it could be quite dark. If you wanted to go a bit more scandinavian you could accessorise with pale blue soft greys and creams. The Viva creme suite gives scope for introducing more colours than the darker one but it is important to introduce some colour. Good luck.

The main assets of your space are the beautiful flooring, the bay window, and the fireplace. The couches need to be rearranged to incorporate the bay window into the space instead of blocking it. This would make the room feel much more spacious and elegant. To that end I would swap the piano and TV as others have suggested. I would also get rid of all the beige, which makes the room rather drab. Either leave the curtains off altogether, or have sheer ones in a tertiary colour with matching cushions to make the room brighter. The floor needs a rug for softness but I wouldn't make it too large, possibly a sage green persian one, but with a discrete pattern. I would also replace the coffee table and TV unit as well as the ceiling light and corner lamp with lighter funky modern pieces - this would not necessarily clash with the more traditional feel of other elements. The fireplace might have an interesting classic design but it is totally lost in blackness! I would paint it white, same as the walls to make its design stand out and also make the room brighter. The baroque mirror over the fireplace looks totally out of place and only reflects the ceiling. A large full height frameless mirror for the wall over the fireplace would make the room feel much more spacious. I would limit artwork to a few larger pieces with simple or no frames. A large painting on the wall opposite the fireplace would be reflected in the mirror/wall over the fireplace and enjoyed from most angles of the room.
