Built in wardrobe
Comments (1)The hinged door would depend on what the doors open out into it. Standard cupboard doors are 50cm - for planning sake why not go onto the IKEA australia website where you can download their PAX wardrobe system. This will allow you to see the impact of how many doors, sliding or not...http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/categories/departments/bedroom/tools/planner_pax/...See MoreBefore and After Little girl's wardrobe
Comments (4)Hi mldesign, thanks for the lovely feedback. Ironically, this is a fairly amateur set of photos but quite popular on this site. I think because it's real life and a real improvement, and quite acheiveable. If you look at the teenage boys room on my profile, that' my son's room -another real life situation. It never really looks like the after shot though, because he is normal and I'm happy for him to be that way. I think as long as I provide the faciltiy for him to be organised, I have done my job as a Mum. I did have pro shots of that done last week so it will be a better quality scene soon and I'll do a whole story on the storage for kids. Yes being oragnised can save a lot of hassle and frustration. People often think I must have an amazingly tidy and organised home, but what I think really matters is finding the right facility to keep you as organised as you personally want or need to be, and that's different for everyone, and changes throughout life and it doesn't have to look pretty to be organised. I also love this little girl's room photo and the one of the little boy's room that because this client was one of those who told me that what I had done for themtotally changed their lives. Seems like a big deal really, but so glad it works. I also did their walk in wardrobe and the study -also photographed- again just phone shots but you can see what an improvement it was for them. Comments (10)I agree with jmm1837 and builders and designers are now realising that clients are spending more of their hard earned cash on clothes and require space to look after their dresses, skirts, suits, shoes bags etc. The key rule for built in or walk in robes is to be able to see and reach everything in your wardrobe. Wardrobe design is very different to kitchen design and it is worth investing in a professional wardrobe designers service to get maximum use of space. If you choose a Reach in or Built in wardrobe the doors are the main feature and make a statement in the room therefore style and finish is very important. If you choose hinged doors make sure you have enough room to open them, sliding doors take up less space. A professional wardrobe designer will work with you to custom design the internal fit out of the built in robe, how much half hang, full hang or 3/4 hanging you need, shoe storage and how many drawers you require. Fashions may change but style never dates, if you get the design right and invest in quality your wardrobe will last a lifetime.www.alliancerobes.com.au...See MoreHow to make a custom wardrobe

Making a custom wardrobe can be a very rewarding experience if you like to make objects. However, you should first consider what you will need to make it. Also, for the style you want, think of a simple model, such as a built-in wardrobe, which will give you great practicality. Therefore, it is important to make a schematic drawing and write the measurements on it. Do the same for the doors, considering the type you'll be using. The amount of material you will need to buy will depend on this. Materials and tools To make a built-in wardrobe you will need: Guides for cabinet doors, come in a kit. Wood in slats. Melanin or wood as sheets. Metal and plastic studs. Jigsaw. Router. Measuring tape. Leveling tool. Drill and screwdrivers. Rule. Steps to build your custom wardrobe Let's see how to build a wardrobe step by step with your own hands. Follow the next steps Make a drawing on the wall indicating the location of the exterior and interior walls of the closet. Take the height, width, and depth measurements. For this, you can use a level, ruler, and tape measure. Now you must drill the support woods keeping intervals of about 50 cm or a little less. Present the strips to make sure they have the right measurements, now drill the wall in the same places. Use a wick according to the wood and the plug that you will use to fix it. Screw to ensure a good fixation. Repeat for each separation. It is time to place the door kit using the plugs that protrude from the wall. Also, place the melanin planks to generate the division. Arrange the shelves, screw them together by placing them face to face and two by two. The leveling holes must face each other so that the shelves are completely straight. Cut the shelves with a jigsaw so they are to size and fit perfectly. It is important to consolidate the structure, for this place a shelf in the central part. Steps to place the sliding door Once you have the structure, it is time to install the sliding door . The first thing is to place it on the sliding rail, leaving about 2 cm between the outer and upper panel. You must drill the railing with consecutive holes to place the plastic plugs, then insert them with a hammer. The screws must not come out of the rail, you must screw the rail firmly. Screw the doors to the top or roof. Place the sliding doors, test that they slide correctly.
