Exterior Paint Colours on Rendered House - Advice
Comments (8)Hi Andrew At Bodo, our motto for exterior colour schemes is Keep It Simple! with a maximum of 3 colours, including your roof, windows etc. If you break this rule, the colour scheme becomes complicated and fussy, and may make your house appear smaller, as introducing differing colour in differing sections, confuses the eye line. Dont make the same mistake, by making "for now"decisions. Think of the future :) We recommend keeping everything in Colorbond Bushland. We have attached an example of how this could look below. 1. Rendered Rear Retainers 2. Existing front retainers 3. Fencing (existing) 4. Full House repaint (this is where the future comes in!) This scheme will work beautifully with your white aluminium joinery, and feel seamless. It will be ok with your classic cream patio and roof. This colour scheme wont be one bit boring! just stylish and classic. Not to mention an increased sale ability of your home. Then you can bring in some timberwork, pots in a colour that you love, outdoor furniture etc or maybe even a wall garden on the rear fence line. If you really want to take the guesswork out of which colours to use right throughout your home, inside and out - jump on and have a look at the concept that Bodo recommends for you: You can purchase and instantly download a full shopping list of paint, materials and products to bring your look together! http://bodoboards.com.au/collections/paint-concept/products/australian-bush-paint-concept Good luck!...See MoreExternal color scheme! Comments (13)I really like colorbonds wallaby... they have some contrasting colours listed below... this might give a dark enough look without being too dark. however would you consider changing roof and trims first and then see how you feel about the brickwork? It might be all you need to do for an updated look. I'd maybe do roof and gutters same colour and then down pipes in a colour similar to bricks so not to stand out..., garage doors maybe the woodland grey?...See Moreironstone rendered front wall and ironstone roof restoration

Comments (12)Whilst the 'wifes inspiration photo' looks lovely , there are several features that aren't included in your place , so your place will not look 'similar' , and may very well look 'try-hard' . Assuming the roof is in good servicable condition , I'd simply paint the veranda and garage roofs in a fresh terracota orange , do the fences in charcoal , do a garden down the left side of the driveway , 4 to 6 standard roses down the right side and around across the front . The front door looks okay in white , but it makes the terrace there look bare -- add a table and chairs , but also I must ask -- if the inspiration pic has a black gloss door and surrounds , wouldn't you have done that in the black ? And to really embrace the era , why not do a garage tilt door with those 'picture frame' things , and do them the gloss black ( or white if you are keeping the main entrance door white ) . Nice , pleasant , updated version of what you have now . If you do sell , you'll easily gain 20% or more for very little cost , anything more is big $$$ and may not add much ....See More- 7 years ago
