What to do with wall space above vanity?
Comments (23)I am not the best person to comment on lights but would a few downlights be the go or one of those integrated heat/fan/light things be best in centre. Also a lot of people have task lighting......so lights just above the mirror for makeup etc. Personally too bright lighting while doing makeup sends me into a spin as I look like i have about a month to live! I hadn't thought of approvals for my proposed window - so thanks for that. Must keep that in mind. My bathroom is very hidden and looks nowhere in particular. It is all looking good. On another note my friend got a heated towel rail and much as I hate wasting power it is fab. Our towels seems to stay dampish in uninsulated BV '60 box in Melbourne. Also i would have a look in bathroom showrooms for some ideas too if you have any handy. Or buy a bathroom specialty magazine. It is going to be so nice this bathroom. What tiles etc?...See MoreHelp!! Is the bath room big enough to have a double vanity of 1.5m
Comments (46)@mlk01, You are right about the message button, I have it on my profile but no one else seems to so that's odd! If you click on my profile for example, you will see on the top line right beside the profile picture: Your house, Ideasbook, Bookmarks, Activities, Messages. In fact I remember that when anyone typed a reply like I'm doing now, you used to be able to click a "private" button, which meant only the person you were typing to saw your comment. Perhaps Houzz can answer these anomalies?? I'm not on Facebook or Twitter, never got into it and have no reason to do so anytime soon ha-ha As for talking privately to someone, you could post your email address here as could oklouise and delete it whilst you are still able to edit, as I've done once in the past. Just not sure how long the edit feature lasts....See MoreVanity bench height
Comments (3)Find your basin first, and then calculate the height based on the height of the people in your house. (excluding the kids, they will grow). Rule of thumb is convenience of use and ability to look in the mirror without tiptoeing or bending down. Top of basin is usually 90cm (approx) for a above bench vanity, the table needs to be lowered. for a flush mount / undermount, then the bench will be at 90cm. My daughter is 150cm now, and 90cm benchtop works ok for her....See MoreHeight of wall hung vanity from floor?
Comments (3)the top of a vanity could be 780 (approx desk or table top height is around 750) or as high as 900 which is average kitchen cabinet height but is it for tall people, short people or average sized people and, as the space under the vanity is not tall enough for anything but dust and lost pills why not make sure the tops of the sinks is no higher than 900 for comfortable height for most people and that would make the floor space 220, the counter top 760 and the top of the basins 900?...See Moreannb1997
