Switch the front window and your side entrance door, this way your door is visible from the street. Then turn the window in the pantry into a door to gain access more directly to your kitchen, a closet and maybe a bench for gathering items on the way in or out. It looks like you have to go up a small flight of stairs to get to the door, otherwise I'd say put the additional entrance on the cellar wall on the left of your plan. Depending on space you may need to slide this new mud room entrance to the left and you might have room for a longer closet along the pantry wall and a bench opposite the closet along the outside wall. You would lose the cellar but I am not sure if that is another storage area or access to a basement. Just some ideas. Really like the rest of the layout. Hope my little picture helps to explain my ideas.

portland - the first or second swatch. i always tell people keep in neautral as one day people love bold colours but they soon get sick of it and need a change but go light toned and you can change cushions and so on. Personally myself i have a amptons home and i keep it allcream, french beige and then change the accent colour as it is less expensive and easier to update

Tan leather sofa look great with grey. I love my leather sofa, grandkids have been jumping over mine for years and still looks great, so easy to clean. I've had the fabric sofas and they always start looking shabby after a while. You can cover them, but what's the point, nice sofa and you have to cover it, no way. Just if you get leather, condition it every 6 mths, they will tell you if you buy one, only a matter of rubbing conditioner into it gently, easy

What sort of leather? Last time we bought a lounge suite the salesperson enthusiastically directed us to their special of the day and we thought we hadn't been looking at leather but it was a surprisingly good price. However as soon as I sat in it I was aware of a faint unpleasant smell. I don't know if smell is a reliable giveaway, or if people can reliably smell it as my husband didn't notice until I mentioned it. So we kept looking and by comparison some of their other sofas had the lovely leather smell you would expect.
