oxblood red is the exact shade i was looking at. and just to clarify, the room would be predominantly white (605), with navy blue (30%) and then just some red accessories - maybe just a cushion on the couch, and some bar stools in the kitchen. @shortped, I have actually had yellow in my kitchen for the last 2 houses (17years) so am just a bit over it! was trying to brak out a little bit.

Love the 80' house, because you have a lot of sun to deal with a pergola from just above the front door running along the garage wall (minus the furniture) you could set a clear roof on top of the slats for shelter from rain. could even consider a similar pergola at a lower level running across from the front entrance and above the two front windows, these can be built to help block summer sun. Maybe render the garage wall to break up the brick and paint same as the garage door and timber above, this looks pale beige /grey, then this colour above windows remembering that window and door frames are cream, they can be painted. please keep the 80's door celebrate it.

Hi there, Depending how many tiles you have, a feature wall would be a great use for polished granite, particularly behind the vanity & mirror. With the right lighting it will have the opposite effect of small & gloomy = spacious, chic and sophisticated. Also the size of the tile can contribute to that "small" feeling but 305mm sq is large enough not to. Keeping them on the walls will also help your budget as not needing to apply a non-slip coating. If you mean a servery from kitchen area to outside, yes they are not a gimmick. The cook in the kitchen will be able to prepare and just pass the food through the servery without continually walking a distance To outside. the cook in the kitchen can talk to people outside sitting at the servery without yelling through a window. Just recommend retractable flyscreens, if your part of the world has mosquitoes or excess flies. But if you never entertain outside, then don't worry. Just put a window in.
