Hi Jayrees, I totally agree with what Kat had to offer, I would suggest a non geometric pattern on the rug as the floor is already geometric, a light colour and subtle pattern if you prefer a pattern. The mirror should definitely be moved and I would consider a large light print to compliment the new rug and and drapes. It's a pity that the window screen blocks the view (it's a nice view) but the heavy screen is a necessity these days, I would remove the stickers from the glass to help with the openness. Just noticed that you have an air con in the room so you may be able to remove the screen.

imo the biggest challenge/cost would be removing all those big solid walls, changing doors and windows and repairing ceilings and not the extra plumbing (new bathrooms and kitchen cabinets, fixtures and appliances cost the same regardless of the extra few metres of pipes) and a new location can make the most of the available space but it can sometimes be more cost effective to add an extension rather than attempting to squeeze too much into an existing building but you need an engineer, builder and plumber to give expert advice on site ... better not to assume that one option is better than another but collect a variety of ideas and ask for quotes to compare actual prices but do you have a realistic budget? i would expect to pay at least $50,000 for a modest new kitchen and bathroom in the same locations before removing any walls or adding an extra bathroom and new laundry and the combined ens/wiw is too small and would be better to have a good sized ensuite with biw and there's not enough space for a bigger island without compromising space in the family dining area...there are so many different options but we need more info...are there any good or bad views, what is the length and width of the block, is there a garage, is there car access into the back yard, what is the distance from the house to each boundary, describe your climate, where is north on the plans, how many steps are there from the back and front doors to the ground, does the block slope and in which direction, how much headroom is under the house and in the roof space...is there any potential for an upstairs, downstairs or an extension into the backyard?

I think I remember this, you had a breezeway alfresco running between the dining and the bedroom wing, this table would have fitted into that space beautifully A rough idea to consider remembering the scale of the furniture. I would run a sofa between both piers with a return on the RH, add a single arm chair and a TV on the wall. Other than that build out the room by extending the alfreso to fit the table , adding another table for the family along with lounges

Colour in photos can be tricky, but it appears your red timber floors are fighting with your brick and other timber items. Are they solid timber? Is sanding them back and staining, if their natural colour doesn’t appeal / complement, an option? Conversely, play to the red and grey scheme with lightly patterned grey / red / white or grey / navy / white curtains. Hang them high and a bit wider than the span to give a luxe look. And perhaps, if you go this way, finish your existing timber furniture in a grey wash or stain. Painting your brick is an option, as is cladding all or some in plaster or a simple panelling. I love the MCM chair you have in the playroom, and I’m a fan of mixing styles, but I’d replace it with a bucket chair or two in a different, to the curtains, but complementary colour patterned fabric. Once you’ve got your basics giving a more harmonious feel, start layering with artwork, throws, an ottoman or two, lighting etc. It takes time to develop a room / home. Don’t rush, chose your colour scheme and furnishing style and gradually move in that direction. Stick pretty much to the 70/20/10 rule and browse the Houzz lookbooks for inspiration, and importantly, trust yourself. After all, we all manage to dress ourselves without causing too many raised eyebrows, no reason we can’t transfer our good taste to our home 😉
