Hi Jennifer, this would be a very very costly exercise - plenty of our clients have achieved a similar look with rectified tiles, utilising a minimal grout line - making the cleaning aspect easier, ultimately you are left with a 1/2mm grout line. It is very minimal! Porcelain panels can also be very expensive too - and there will be added costs involving transport + delivery, as they are heavy and in large sheet sizes. It depends also whether you are building from new, or just renovating - as it may be a bit more difficult to maneuver the large panel into an exiting home. Certainly do your research though - there are lots of options out there - best of luck!

How long until you renovate your bathroom again? Something that is "quite trendy at the moment" works fine if you are a real estate flipper, but can start to look very dated after 10 years. If you are planning to use your bathroom for more than 10 years before the next renovation go classic, rather than trendy. Of course Beaumonts tiles want you go with something on-trend as that is how the suppliers market their products, so it will date, and somebody will want to replace it with something else that is on-trend in ten years time! Hi squirrel30. I ended up, on a professional's advice, having the whole bathroom stripped and redone. It actually worked out cheaper than any of the seemingly more innovative solutions. It seemed a shame to discard a lot of stuff that was in good order, but to get the result we wanted it proved the best approach and I'm delighted with the result. We had the floor pulled up and replaced with 600 x 600 textured grey tiles and 900 wide tiles in the shower with a grate at the end so in a very, very large shower we have only 3 grout lines and they are dark grey. We used slab tiles on the walls in the shower with dark grey grouting and 600 x 600 tiles elsewhere. Again resulting in very few grout lines, and no glass at all! I'm still interested to know more about microcement but I can't get anyone to answer inquiries. I've responded to a dozen or so ads but nobody has ever bothered to contact me. Not sure I would trust a supplier who is that disinterested in potential customers!!

Bigger should not cost more. Size does not determine price. I would go for the largest available tile in a shower. Alternately, you could look at wall sheetings like Mr Wet Wall, Spa Panel, Reflections, etc. Much cheaper than tiles due to the labour saving (and in many cases no need for a wall lining under the finished sheeting). There are some lovely designs. They are generally warrantied for 10 years+. And they make cleaning far easier. Personally, I would NEVER have tiles in a shower if building again.
