Hi Aleta1, youre getting down to the nitty gritty of Interior Design now. Choosing the perfect colour involves addressing many issues...size of your windows, orientation of the house, height of ceilings, size of rooms, purpose for room to name a few. If you have the time I recommend getting a sample pot of full and half strength and try it in a couple of corners of each room. That way you can see how the colour looks at different angles. I've just been looking at your colours, I think the Dulux Dieskau would work the best with the other colours you have to work with, choosing colours is such a personal thing and I know it can be really hard to choose and hope you make the correct choice. Oskuee is right, a paint job can look terrible half way through so you need to make sure you finish to get the proper look of colour. But the biggest thing to remember is it's only paint and it's the cheapest thing to change so if your not happy with the colour you choose you can always try something else. Happy redecorating :)

I live in a townhouse complex and the gutters, garage door etc, will need repainting soon. The body corporate has a wide range of colours - based on colourbond - which we can choose from. I grabbed swatches of possible colours and tested them against the yellowy gold bricks. The colours I liked best didn't look right and one I'd discounted did. So try and see what seems to work to you; squint if necessary but stand back a bit and see The two biggest colours are the brick and the roof, so see what works with them. I suspect black will be too stark a contrast.

Rachael, you’re very welcome! It was fun to draw up. As far as layering photos, I wasn’t suggesting you cover one photo with another, (what is the point of having beautiful photos and memories then! Lol) rather, overlap the edges of the frames (both are quite wide from your photos) so that they are connected without obscuring the images within. Hope that makes sense! What a difference just painting that back wall makes! It really opens up the room now. I think the few bricks around your fireplace now is a very charming feature. It keeps the charm of the original while bringing the rest of the room into a fresh new era! Well done! I would suggest running a long extension chord for your tv for now while you try out a new layout for the space if there are no powerpoints on the far wall, just to be sure you like the arrangement.
