Yes, that 80s peach was a lovely colour wasn't it - broke my heart to say goodbye to mine. Fortunately today's whites look so amazing, I got over it very quickly. Matching floor and wall tiles are easy to buy now, I kept mine matching and love the result. Keep any pattern in the tile minimal and either white or a pale colour. If you are repeating the skirting tile again though, I would just use half a tile, a full tile like you have is not necessary and looks a little clumsy. I was advised against fully tiling both bathrooms because of their size and keeping tiling to a minimum definitely increases the size of both rooms visually. A frameless or semi-frameless shower screen will make a huge difference. A niche in the shower recess wall looks great for holding shower needs but not always possible to do. An alternative is simple clear glass shelving. I was very disappointed I could not have the niches, which wasn't discovered until the rooms were gutted, but I'm now very happy with the shelving. A wall hung vanity will increase the room size visually, but they are more expensive to install. Keep the vanity very simple and a floor one will be fine. If you need more storage, a mirrored shaving cabinet will work and give you a frameless mirror.

Hi All, It sounds like tumeric and grease are the worst culprits for staining. We are looking to put the Cloudburst in our kitchen as our island and backsplash, but I'm very nervous. I love to cook and host. I also LOVE the look of this stone and would like to make it work if we can. Are there any bakers on this thread that have experience with these countertops? If you are rolling out dough or baking with greasy dough, how has that experience been? What if you get butter/oil on it? Any tips? Do you cover the counter before doing your baking etc.? I imagine beet juice would also be a nightmare?

Benchtop oven is one of those round glass ovens with the element in the lid. Cost me all of $35 and it's one of the best appliances I've ever owned. I cook everything in it and the bowl just goes in the dishwasher. Much easier than cleaning an oven. And it costs so little to run, heats quickly, and cooks superbly. Can't build it in though because you insert food through the top, be removing the lid, and then it gets pulled apart to wash the bowl after use. Accurate dimensions are a problem right now because this terrible virus thing has delayed our move into the house until end July. Very frustrating, but can't be helped. And we can't go to the house at the moment either, so I'm just working off plans as best I can. It's not ideal, and everything will have to be checked carefully when we move in, before we start any work. But I want to get going as soon as we move in so I want to have most of my plans almost confirmed. With the latest plan, I don't think I will reuse the existing cabinets after all. The kitchen is in excellent condition. I just hate the design. I think I'll sell the kitchen and start over. The cabinets seemed to work for my original plan - even had those lovely corner drawers! But I like your idea much better, Siriuskey, and the existing cabinets just don't work with that layout. I think it would be cheaper to sell the kitchen and start over. Maybe keep the oven tower with oven and m./wave in it, as they are in excellent order. Also keep the dishwasher, which probably doesn't even have to move at all.
