Hi, I know this is a long time after your first notes but I can't help but comment. I love the idea of the shallow wall that goes to the ceiling with a ladder. We lived in a home where the refrigerator was outside on the porch due to lack of space. With very few cupboards, I did a couple shelving units built between studs like that. I measured the height of each shelf away from the one above it with my canned foods. Turned out great and it is amazing how much those 2 little shelves could hold. I also want to say that I don't know building codes in your country but I agree that you should get at least 3 other quotes. With a concrete wall you can put electrical in that area. You can just have them use metal, electrical conduit. It does show (toe kick works, too!) but it is very non-invasive and should be cheaper. I really love the kitchen that Edith Martins posted. It is such a little gem. I can just picture myself working in that lovely place. Go slowly with your renovations. Listen to all thoughts and suggestions. In the end, this is your money you are spending and your home, so be sure to do what makes you happy. Lastly, there is NO box that you have to work within. Look online, watch Tiny House shows, go to architectural websites for ideas. Do YOUR thing. And, please post pictures when you are done! Best.

Let's keep it nice, I don't think EthanWes is as precious as you may think and it is a forum for personal opinions after all. I also thought the comeback was unnecessarily aggressive & unwarranted. I would keep whatever you put there quite subtle and simple in colour so it doesn't draw the eye. You've got a nice retro/scandi feel from the look of it, see it as another way to carry this through?! So some ideas: - a small succulent in a low 1-2" pot, possibly including a trailing one such as Silver Falls (though don't let it get too out of hand!), will help make it look less compartmenty. Expensive example, but something like the Bose Soundlink Mini If you're looking for more ideas, 'open shelving' should provide lots though you are constrained with the very low height of the shelves.

Thanks very much Annb1997 Yes there are sliding doors the full length of the balcony and that is a privacy screen but you can see the view through it at a certain angle. The reason we chose that slim line table was not to take away from the view. So yes I agree with you regarding the type of furniture I will pick. I do like the idea of grouping chairs with a smaller table, to give it a more relaxed feel. Yes we do bbq and have one down by the pool area but I'm hoping to get one for this balcony. We have another balcony directly underneath this one with daybeds and dining table/chairs. That balcony was easier to furnish as the view is just district as opposed to this view being water as well as district. I'm just not sure what way to place the current table, its currently extended to seat 12.

Kitchen and office is 7 x 3 metres the connecting cabin is 7x4 and the bedroom is 7x 3.5 you should be able to see the inbuilt washer and the space where the bin is would suite a small dishwasher.....we are still undecided if we need one. the kitchen units can’t be moved, so I am stuck with their location. to the right of the kitchen entr is the office and we are putting .5 x 2.00 floor to ceiling storage as well as desk dryer and printer.. i was concerned that the dark wall is making the room look narrow, we have a limed washed look flooring not sure about the mirrors/ stainless steel because there is nothing but interiors to reflect! Though we cert need natura light in the area thank you for your help, I have lost my confidence
