Hi Lainie, I have used removable wallpaper from The Wall Sticker Company in several of my homes and it is reasonably easy to apply - best if you have someone to help hold and smooth it out. It takes a bit of patience but the end result is sooo worth it! It will totally transform a dull space into something special :-) In my experience it also removes easily without damaging the walls, just like they promise. I have been testing some wallpaper samples out in my daughter's room, I first put them up about 12 months ago and have moved them a few times, they peeled off and re-stuck without any trouble. Here's an important warning though - don't attempt to clean the wallpaper or get it wet in any way as the dye will smudge. I have done both full feature walls and lower half wall borders around the whole room, both looked spectacular! Good luck with your decorating project xx.

It sounds like it might need to be skim coated. I'm happy to be corrected, but I don't think regular gyprockers do that kind of work on lathe and plaster. I know what you are talking about though- the plaster is so rough, it is unlikely that paint will take to it. I'd worry that the vinegar will have a chemical reaction with the lime in the plaster. It is very high lime content, makes it very crumbly and resists paint. I think you have 3 options: 1. Get a quote to repair- finding a plasterer that works in lathe and plaster, prepare for $$$. 2. Get a quote from a regular gyprocker to sheet over the top. At least it will never crack! (which lathe and plaster is known for doing very easily)...the wallpaper would of hidden that. 3. Finally- replace the wall paper- something new to your taste after patching the patches with gap filler yourself. Hope this helps you.

Love the steam punk vibe. Always check in with the artist prior to using their art as most times they would be flattered to have someone hang it on their wall especially a giant sized version. Pity you couldn't have a pulley system? mural where if that background got a bit old you could change it up with a new steampunk art piece and design the pulley to have cogs not only for function but for aesthetics as well. Have a big brass button with "Push here" to activate.

I think  wallpaper mural style or otherwise is a really bad idea on this wall.  It's already a very busy space and tv on a busy background will make it worse.  The fact you don't know where to finish it tells you this is a wall where it won't suit.  Save your money.
