I agree with Mel N. It's a relatively closed space and I think with the frames and the light fitting, less is more. An obvious curtain rod would be a step too far I think - pleated curtains on a hidden track would be how I would go.

Hi Badobbs, you could easily choose a very dark charcoal or black tile for the floor and then white tile for the walls. It depends on the style you want. All one colour is elegant and a bit like a hotel (especially in a faux marble) whilst a black floor is a little edgier. It then depends on the vanity and tapware. If you choose monochromatic or black and white, then choose a wood grain vanity to add a feeling of warmth. I'd add gold or copper or brushed nickel tapware depending on the vibe you want to create. I can't even work any of that sorry . I assume the stone you have to have is that greyish larger square in the middle of both pictures ? Where is that going ? The vanity is the light powdery blue that is in one of the pics ? What are the floor tiles ? What else do you want ? Wall tile colour ? Shower tile colour ? Maybe thats where the grey tiles are going , or maybe its the floor ? At a guess , if the vanity is that powdery light blue then go with a stronger blue somewhere --- I quite like semi-see-thru blue glass tiles in small doses , maybe even some really strong blue almost violet tiles too , or if going modern , how about those tiles that are maybe 30mm tall , various lengths up to 250mm , in a strong blue but mixed with say black and even brushed stainless ( which I'm guessing is similar to nickel ? ) of the same size ( you can get them already made on a cottony backing ) with a white grout . But I may have it all wrong , and you may want white and grey and nickel and no real colour .

I realise that it only matters if you like it , there are some features I like , but some that i wouldn't want -- just shows we are all different ! The black/charcoal is the right tone , but I am inclined to think there is still too much , although it is 'livable' . Just me , but I guess the biggest 'clash' is the lighter timber . The timber you used is nice in itself , but IMO it doesn't fit in with the floor , and the floor itself I dislike , because of the 2 different directions of the timber ( in fact , it even looks like the 2 floor timbers are different widths , but hard to tell ) but also it is obviously different tones . just my opinion , you either match or you go for contrast -- this does neither . It is similar timber , laid in opposite directions , with the join halfway across the kitchen just to really highlight all the differences . My 'standard' thing too is colour , and that may come via the accessories , and to say it looks bare is unfair -- I'd like to see it when it is accessorised .
