An Outdated Family Home Becomes Light & Airy

My dear clients loved entertaining family and friends in their home whenever they could. During one of our initial meetings, my clients broke down into tears after asking what their dream home looked like, and what lifestyle they wish to have. They wanted a home, they could be proud of and a place that would be the home of many memories with their loved ones, for years to come. They were so happy and excited for us to work together to make this dream a reality.

As well as entertaining, the husband loves to cook and they laughed about him being messy, but this was also due to the limited bench space. It was crucial we created a space that was not only open and welcoming but included a large kitchen for cooking & entertainment. A butler's kitchen was a must as well as a big kitchen island to serve and have conversations while cooking. The couple wanted light & airy colours, they wanted to add lots of light flowing into the space, so we corporate skylights and played with the space planning to manipulate shadows. We selected the perfect tone of grey and white so it wasn't too blue-toned and flows nicely with the colour of the timber.

A major transformation was also achieved in both bathrooms. We added feature mosaic tiles in the second bathroom that created that interesting texture and movements, as well as a little character and personality. We loved doing each of the bathrooms slightly different from one another, but still coherent in style.

The clients loved the final results, not only the transformation itself to their home but the execution and feel created within the space. They loved how the materials used in the kitchen and bathrooms and the mix of timber with grey timber panels on the island, created interest and movement while still keeping it simple and subtle.
