2. Peel & stick papers
Nifty peel-and-stick wallpaper from brands such as The Wallsticker Company is the time-poor decorator’s ultimate hack – simply peel off the adhesive backing, pop it on the wall and you’ll add colour, texture and interest to a room in a manner of minutes – without a single tool required.
“Because the wallpaper sticks gently to the wall, any bubbles smooth out and it can be moved over and over again,” says Jen Menz, director at The Wallsticker Company. “The adhesive is more like a gum that doesn’t harden over time so even five or 10 years later, you can remove it without damaging the wall or leaving any residue.”

Prices at Wallsauce start from $62 per square metre.

5. Paste-the-wall coverings
Non-woven or paste-the-wall wallpaper allows you to cover your walls like a pro in record time – even if you’re a novice.
“Historically, wallpapering and its removal have been considered tricky jobs best left to the professionals,. However, papers with non-woven backing allow you to hang dry wallpaper directly from the roll to a pre-pasted wall. This means that the dry paper is far easier to handle, less likely to rip or tear and will trim more easily than when wet,” says Paula Taylor, Superfresco Easy’s trend and style expert.
“In addition, non-woven wallpapers can be removed from the wall in minutes without needing to steam or scrape,” she says.

“Issues like shrinkage, bubbling and showing of joints are also things of the past,” says Demelza Reveley, digital marketing manager at Eurowalls.
“Biophilipa, or bringing the outside in, is one of the key trends this season;
botanical and leafy organic designs and shades of green, soft grey and ochre bring a calming feel to a room,” says Taylor.
She has also seen homeowners
getting more creative with their use of wallpaper; “This includes wallpapering all four walls and ceilings. By papering the ceiling, the edges of the room blur and you create a cosy feel that appears limitless.”
Homeowners are also using wallpaper to up-cycle tired pieces of furniture, she says.
