Thanks Louise, I'm still leaning towards the grey. At the moment I'm thinking Dulux flooded gum for the walls and dulux monument for the roof with white gutters and trims. Still not sure about going white for garage & entrance doors or paint them in the monument.

Hi Stacey, I know you like the white wash look and the photos you posted were great examples of this finish. No one really likes that dark brick look so why not do the ceiling first after you knock out that wall in the middle & step back in to look at the changes. I'm sure you will be tiling before the new kitchen goes in so after this is done your room will be lighter again. The ugly duckling is becoming more like a swan! How funny. I just renovated (on a budget) my small kitchen and added exactly the slate look in tiles you have, though they are in fact porcelain. And I placed them throughout the house for continuity. The tiler asked if I was after a retro hippy look but it doesn't look like that at all. My cupboards were the same colour as yours and I utilised the bones of the kitchen and had the doors and Benchtops changed only. I also have plenty of light in the kitchen but chose white doors and as I was on a budget I chose granite look Benchtops, they are very serviceable and it looks great. The blue backsplash was the colour lift and here you could choose any colour to your liking. Basically the kitchen ended up with white cupboards and appliances other than cooktop, with the stainless cooktop and coloured splash back being the focal point. The paint colour are: whisper white walls, integra splashback, white ceiling and for increased contrast I used the same white above the splashback on the rear wall. I would consider painting out the brick but leaving the texture.

Definitely the off-white . But can I suggest that , dependingh on budget , a couple of things that I would change , that would add even more pride in your place , and also more resale . The wooden entry and wooden garage door are great features -- add some warmth ! Why not continue and reference that by adding the same cedar stained timber to at least the 'corner' charcoal coloured piece on the upstairs window -- both sides of the window may be too much ? And if possible ( I assume it is reasonably set plan , but doesn't hurt to ask/suggest ) I'd do that larger left 1 1/2 storied 'feature' ( is it presently concrete block , or grey tiled ? ) in a red antiqued brick -- it , combined with the redder toned timber accents , will really add to the look IMO .
