We chose to complement the impressive physical dimensions of this log home with thoughtful placement of large boulders. Low plantings feature a variety of textures, and a curvy retaining wall provides a natural border without blocking the magnificent view of the lake. Elegantly curved stone paths link separate spaces together while inviting you to stroll through the gardens surrounding the house.

The rear of this Central Street Neighborhood yard floods regularly during heavy rains. Rather than fight mother nature, Prassas Landscape Studio created a rain garden to store excess stormwater until it can percolate into the soil. The rain garden is also fed by the roof’s runoff and basement’s sump pump through a contemporary steel runnel. Stone steppers penetrate a curved wall to lead to the back firepit seating area. With this Master Bedroom, I added an upholstered bed with a straight clean line to compliment the window detail. The two nightstands that are added fit the very small space, the two tall slender lamps were added to give it height. A softly shaped cornice to cover the half windows along with remote controlled shades tucked underneath during the daytime. The bedding and fabric on the cornice were selected to match and to bring in more color. All of these details are opening this space up and not overcrowding it. Painted in Sherwin William 7623 Buff
