“I bought a house that was almost 60 years old. Besides requiring new wiring and plumbing, the bathrooms were both ugly and functioned poorly. I hired on the ball because they had redone the bathrooms in my previous residence and I had been very happy with the results. They worked well with a team of guys to bring my house up to livability and secured all correct council permissions for me to install a bathroom in my basement which was to become my studio. One of On the Balls great strengths is that they pays attention not only to the functionality of the spaces they alter but to the aesthetics and to small details that could easily be overlooked. The main bathroom was tiny and inconvenient. Shane knocked out the linen closet next to it creating much more space and a perfect place for the bathtub. He installed a heater and good lighting. Again, because i am short, he installed the shower at a height that works for me. Besides the fittings the advice on selecting everything from flooring, to tiles to tubs and sinks has been invaluable. Shane and James have good taste combined with his sensitivity to my needs, extensive knowledge of materials and processes and his ability to think outside the box have created a home I love to live in and inviting to my friends. “Our house is circa 1890's workers cottage, narrow block with poor access. Prior extension had left us with a space that was both not usable and and poorly built. We wanted the back part of the house removed, rebuilt in an open modern style. Main areas renovated were Kitchen, Dining, Laundry, Bathroom and outdoor area. Swell homes were extremely helpful from the start, very positive approach to our job and a willingness to provide guidance from the outset and for the duration of the job. They were flexible and allowed for alterations along the way. The project and site manager were contactable at all times and we were given regular updates about the current work and upcoming schedules of work. We used cost-plus which suited our job and budget well and would recommended Swell to anyone planning a renovation.”

“Clare Pullen Designs designed a new study for our family last year. We had several requirements for the room: it needed to provide more storage for our household, as well as be able to be used by two household members at the same time. Clare provided us with a mood board to illustrate the colour scheme and a floor plan of cupboards, counter, and other storage elements. She recommended suppliers to help keep our costs down. Her detailed advice guided us as we undertook the renovation ourselves. The final result has provided necessary storage and a room set out to enable both our daughter and her father computer time. The office also looks fantastic with its contrast of white walls and white cupboard doors against the dark wood look of the cupboard shell and flooring. Overall, Clare has an "eye" and an ability to update the look of any room in an economical and practical way. Trust her judgement!”

“We requested a design for the central courtyard of our house. It was a small space - 4x4 alfresco and 4x4 open courtyard. The area is encased by 28 course glass windows and the our neighbour's double storey wall. We opted to trust Janine to provide a single design. She came onsite, took our requirements and we provided references for gardens in her portfolio we liked best. The garden design is amazing! Every plant is flourishing and overall, it has big wow factor which was our major requirement. This garden is the first thing you see when you leave our entry, and everyone comments very positively on it. Day to day, it's the centre piece of our living space and kitchen and we enjoy it day and night.”
