A classic red brick house with artificial turf and existing curved edged garden beds in the front and back gardens calling out for some new plants, required a very simple yet effective planting palette.

The entrance was uplifted with new potted plants. The white pots bring a modern classic touch to the front entrance and are planted with long lasting colour in shades of dark pinks and whites which tie in well with the purple foliage used throughout.

The necessity for year round colour was achieved by planting the groundcover Alternanthera Little Ruby repetitively as a border plant to accentuate the garden bed curves and straight lines. The contrast of deep greens and greys together with dark purples offset the surrounding green turf well.

Bold additions of oversized urns by the client as features in the back garden against a double volume wall, bring a sense of grandeur and will be lit up at night to allow perfect bedroom window views. In time, ornamental pears will grow to soften the wall and balance the scale in the back garden.

With an existing water feature taking centre stage in the back garden, the surrounding planting will be tall green hedges with a purple border. White roses add a touch of class and softness to the landscape design.

This makeover will give the owners a few splashes of colour here and there, but the simplistic planting will be easy to maintain and give the garden a neat appearance.
