Elegant Formal Garden
Various spaces throughout the property have been given a facelift over several years. Starting in the front courtyard, some of the tired groundcovers and mismatched trees were removed to make way for three new low bowls which were installed in such a way as to look as though they are floating/resting on the ledge of the garden bed wall. Feature plants and trailing Dichondra Silver Falls add much needed wow factor in this small space. Changing the blade fence colour from black to white added to uplifting this area.
The chosen back garden option was to keep the lawn as wide as possible, wrapping the boundary fences with lush new hedges which will create a beautiful green backdrop as they mature. Steel edging minimizes maintenance, while low grasses add texture to the simple planting scheme.
A small paved pad within the garden bed, with pots on either side, anchors a large white bench seat, inviting one down into the garden. Two beautiful Crepe Myrtles draw the eye and add to the formality in this corner. The simplicity of the white and green colour scheme makes this a timeless easy to care for space.
The final touch was to add pot clusters within the large alfresco area. Carefully selected pot and plant combinations add welcoming warmth to this zone, while tying in well with previously selected pots in other sections of the garden.
