Potted Courtyard & Balcony Garden
This tiny courtyard is used for both entertaining and as a walkway. The Leopard Tree is the main feature in the courtyard, with carefully placed potted plants adding height, accent and structure to this space.
The Leopard tree was brought in as a mature 6m high specimen for immediate impact and has been a delight to the owners ever since. It has served to bring shade and height into the courtyard of this triple story home and lends privacy and shade to the balcony above it. Corten steel lights lend a stunning feature here and continue the theme throughout the various spaces.
A metal staircase leads from the courtyard up onto the entertainment balcony where two large pots stand tall at the entrance. Here the Leopard trees' canopy creates instant privacy from surrounding neighbours and intruding rooftop views.
Due to the large black pots on the balcony accidentally breaking, they have been replaced with the current tall grey styled pots, which look even better with flowering red aloes in the winter months.
