Structured Entrance Layout
This new build with its warm brick facade had a few boxes to tick for its entrance, including the boundary fence which needed a gated entrance from the road.
Angling the entrance gate and the pillars in the boundary wall created a private nook where the pathway starts that leads to the front door. Lining the exposed aggregate pathways with recycled brick edges added the necessary warmth to the material palette, which accentuates the house facade perfectly. The path is broken up by a larger recycled brick area which will be used as a seating area in the future once the feature shade tree reaches maturity.
Compacted Summerstone fines act as a low maintenance substitute for lawn in the larger structured spaces adjoining the path. Hardy groundcovers will soften these stark spaces once they start spreading, creating a natural balance between the informally planted garden beds and the straight structural lines of this design.
Weathered steel edging define the edges and retain level variations where required.
A large low white feature bowl is the hero of the front garden, the white complimenting the white rendered strips on the facade.
Native plants, with the addition of a few succulents and hardy waterwise options, complete this new garden space perfectly.
