Vertical Impact

A tiny back garden space surrounding a small alfresco required additional seating and softening of the stark new tall boundary fences.
A sense of spaciousness was achieved by adding a floating bench seat within the garden with an bluestone stepper pathway connecting the alfresco to the gate that leads to the neighbouring park and access to the side alley of the house. Rainbowstone mulch makes this an easy care area and the light stone compliments the whites and greys of the coastal styles of the house facade and surrounding materials.
A lush vertical green wall is the gardens main feature and is centered to be fully appreciated from the inside living area.
A selective plant variety softens the edges of the stone mulch, enhancing the natural feel within the small space. Foliage variety creates all-round interest while soft greys contrast against greens and a few black leaved species.
Due to limited space, creepers will cover the fence on installed mesh trellising, where Dichondra repens will create the perfect lawn alternative beside the alfresco.
Lots of punch in a small space!
