Transforming this green garden bed around this poolside into a more colourful and tropical space was the client brief for this makeover.
Bringing in variegated and red, purple and yellow leafed planting as well as accent plants such as Cycas, Magnolia Teddy Bear and a pink flowering Frangipani have added instant colour to this garden bed, which had only green Trachelospermum, the 3 Cercis trees and the existing hedge as it's backbone.

There are existing roses which will provide summer flowers. Existing Strelitzia reginae were spread out to provide bold leaf structure. As the plants mature the strong new introduction of leaf and shrub colour will provide an interesting and constantly changing palette during the seasons, providing much needed screening in front of sections of the fence and softening the existing hedge trunks.
Work included pruning back the hedge drastically, cutting back the ground cover Trachelospermum and adding additional planting.
