Californian Bungalow Transformation

The Californian bungalow façade and the front two rooms were retained and modernised while the rest of the house was completely re-built.

As you enter the home, it provides a modern slant to a traditional space with the use of colour which then leads you to the rest of the house. As you walk through the door, there are many elements to focus on including the beautiful rustic tectonic floorboards. The stair case and the cascading light feature are highlight from every angle of the room. A few steps along, we lead into the dining room with its warm coloured geometric wallpaper which complements the soft grey colour of the dining chairs and the timber table. A feature pendant over the table is the centrepiece. As we turn the corner, we have many attention grabbing features - The pool, the kitchen, the fireplace and the furnishings. The neolith estatario porcelain benchtop with its beautiful grey veins is the kitchen’s feature with smoked glass pendants adding to the warmth of the room. The fireplace wall is broken up with use of angles, shelves, and materials and colours creating interest while blending in to the overall room. The introduction
of colour has been brought into the furnishings through the ottoman, and cushions while the soft grey sheer across the large window softens the whole space creating an inviting ambience.
