Clients have lived in their home for over 20 years and predominantly wanted to renovate their kitchen. After some discussion, the brief developed to opening up the front rooms with some soft screening through the use of timber slats and new floorboards.
Two new openings were created – as you enter the home and then again to the living room. The openings were raised to the ceiling and square set, with vertical timber slats added to sections providing some zoning. The overall space has been enriched creating the illusion of greater space and elegance.
The kitchen materials create balance to the stone fireplace with a composite stone benchtop in Ceasarstone’s Clamshell against a combination of Natural White 2pac and Laminex Domain in the impressions finish for the kitchen. Further balance is given in the dining room with the used of Dulux Homebush as the feature wall colour. Contrasting beautifully against the darker tones is the newly laid Spotted Gum timber floorboards. Colour is then injected through artwork and cushions which are all visible in this open-plan living space.
