My clients downsized from a large family home to a new apartment in Ivanhoe and wanted help with customed joinery and furniture throughout.
As you enter, the whole apartment is on show and therefore, a well-coordinated interior was essential. The apartment is light and essentially white providing a neutral palette which we layered with dark timbers, marble and varying plush fabrics providing depth and refinement to the overall space. Colour is then introduced through the scatter cushions and artwork.
Customed dining table and chairs are anchored with a spectacular pendant from Great Dane. The soft blue of the dining chairs is balanced by a similar coloured fabric in the barstools on the other side of the room. Elegant and interesting table lamps are placed on the beautifully designed console and buffet adding warmth and ambiance to the room. The customed entertainment unit clad in Navurban Hamilton makes a dramatic statement to the living room while creating a cosy space.
The accent colour of blue is continued into the bedroom through scatter cushions and rug. The pop of colour adds interest to the otherwise neutral palette of a silver upholstered bedhead against a geometric charcoal wallpaper. This coupled with customed timber bedsides and grey-glassed lamps makes for an elegant bedroom.
The balcony is long and is divided to provide different types of seating. A lounge setup is created in one corner with a sofa, armchairs, rug and scatter cushions for some colour. The BBQ is positioned on the other end with the dining table and chairs in the middle. The balcony is broken up with gorgeous pots from The Balcony Garden adding a sense of comfort through plantings.
Overall, a sophisticated space to be enjoyed for many years.
