We had so much fun updating this Old Town loft! We painted the shaker cabinets white and the island charcoal, added white quartz countertops, white subway tile and updated plumbing fixtures. Coming from Minnesota this couple already had an appreciation for a woodland retreat. Wanting to lay some roots in Sun Valley, Idaho, guided the incorporation of historic hewn, stone and stucco into this cozy home among a stand of aspens with its eye on the skiing and hiking of the surrounding mountains. Design ideas for a mid-sized contemporary family room in Moscow.

We took advantage of the double volume ceiling height in the living room and added millwork to the stone fireplace, a reclaimed wood beam and a gorgeous, chandelier. The sliding doors lead out to the sundeck and the lake beyond. TV's mounted above fireplaces tend to be a little high for comfortable viewing from the sofa, so this tv is mounted on a pull down bracket for use when the fireplace is not turned on. Floating white oak shelves replaced upper cabinets above the bar area.

This inviting family room was part of the addition to the home. The focal point of the room is the custom-made white built-ins. Accented with a blue back, the built-ins provide storage and perfectly frame the fireplace and mounted television. The fireplace has a white shaker-style surround and mantle and honed black slate floor. The rest of the flooring in the room is red oak with mahogany inlays. The French doors lead outside to the patio. What started as an addition project turned into a full house remodel in this Modern Craftsman home in Narberth, PA. The addition included the creation of a sitting room, family room, mudroom and third floor. As we moved to the rest of the home, we designed and built a custom staircase to connect the family room to the existing kitchen. We laid red oak flooring with a mahogany inlay throughout house. Another central feature of this is home is all the built-in storage. We used or created every nook for seating and storage throughout the house, as you can see in the family room, dining area, staircase landing, bedroom and bathrooms. Custom wainscoting and trim are everywhere you look, and gives a clean, polished look to this warm house. The focal point of this beautiful family room is the bookmatched marble fireplace wall. A contemporary linear fireplace and big screen TV provide comfort and entertainment for the family room, while a large sectional sofa and comfortable chaise provide seating for up to nine guests. Lighted LED bookcase cabinets flank the fireplace with ample storage in the deep drawers below. This family room is both functional and beautiful for an active family.

The family room updates included replacing the existing brick fireplace with natural stone and adding a custom floating mantel, installing a gorgeous coffered ceiling and re-configuring the built- ins.

This is a Rustic inspired Ship Ladder designed for a cozy cabin in Maine. This great design connects you to the loft above, while also being space-saving, with sliding wall brackets to make the space more usable.

This energetic and inviting space offers entertainment, relaxation, quiet comfort or spirited revelry for the whole family. The fan wall proudly and safely displays treasures from favorite teams adding life and energy to the space while bringing the whole room together.

A family with a deep love for nature envisioned a place where generations of their family could come together, connect with nature, and create lasting memories. The master plan was to create a family campus featuring a main house for gathering, three "sibling" cottages, a boathouse, and a dock. The composition for each of these structures is to live, as a family, independently and also in relation to each other. The design revolves around the concept of coexistence with nature, catering to clients who lead an active outdoor lifestyle. The design aims to blur the interior spaces and the surrounding Maine landscape.
